COPPÉLIA SETA N. 9760
The design of this wallcovering, featuring a very realistic trompe-l’oeil effect, is taken from the image of a real velvet drapery located in a prestigious historical palace. The marvellous curtain is linked to the one in the enchanted workshop described in the balled Coppélia (1870) by Arthur Saint-Léon, where the eponymous protagonist is a beautiful mechanical doll, whose maker keeps jealously in his shop. Printed on two different supports – silk/laminated yarn and velvet – this wallcovering is completed by a range of rich trimmings developed to emphasize the joints.
