AMAHL N. 9733
This wallcovering reinterprets a classic animalier motif, featuring crocodile print, in a modern way and evoking exotic places. The pattern, typical of fashion and luxurious leather goods, becomes the starting point for the rich linen background. The name is a tribute to Amahl and the Night Visitors (1951) by the Italian composer Gian Carlo Menotti, which shares with this wallcovering the union of tradition and innovation: in fact, this opera – the first ever conceived for television – presents a plot that changes the usual point of view on the journey of the Magi in the Holy Land.
