SIEGFRIED N. 8130
Sigfried – named after the eponymous opera by Richard Wagner from 1876 – is a perfect combination of preciousness and artisanship: the damier design is obtained by hand weaving strips of wallcovering in silk and metallic yarns, or in silk and linen. The checkerboard motif, among Giorgio Armani’s favourites, becomes three-dimensional and dynamic thanks to the different reflections of light: the different light effects give the impression that the weaving, which is actually monochromatic, is made by using two different contrasting colours.
