LORELEY N. 9720

For the making of this wallcovering – dedicated to Loreley (1890), opera by Alfredo Catalani – the choice was to use the ancient technique of fil posé, made even richer by the use of silk threads, which is rare for this production process. The color palette alternates vivid and pastel tones, neutral gradients and fluid shades inspired by the plot of the opera itself, whose protagonist is a girl turned into a fairy after the wedding to the Rhine river: spells and watery reflections define an oneiric atmosphere, celebrated by this wallcovering where the design comes from the reinterpretation of an ikat effect in macro-scale.
